Below is a list of lab tests required to be a Recipient at Barbados Fertility Centre:

Blood Tests:

HIV 1 & 2
Hepatitis B SAg
Hepatitis C Ab
RPR/VDRL
CMV IgG and IgM
FBC (Full Blood Count)
ABO/Rh
Rubella
TSH
Prolactin
HbA1c
Antiphospholipid Antibody (APA)
Antithryglobulin Antibody (ATA)
Antimicrosomal Antibody (ATPO)
also known as Antithyroperoxidase
Vitamin D

Physical Evaluation

• Smear Test
• Saline Infusion Sonogram (SIS) or Hysteroscopy (HSC)
• Mammogram and Letter of Good Health from GP, if recipient 45 years of age or older.

 

Male

HIV 1&2

Semen Analysis – Must have 2 – 4 days abstinence from ejaculation prior to sample.

 

Psychological Evaluation

• Counselling session must be performed by both parties with a registered psychologist, to discuss the implications of using donor gametes.
• All results must be current – i.e. within 1 year.
